Project HEALTH Circuit Training
Monday Nights: 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Project HEALTH teaches a weekly circuit training class with TNABA. This class is open to the public and is fully inclusive of ALL abilities. Each class opens with light exercises and stretches to get the body warmed up. Then, we move into Circuit Training which combines strength training (with resistance bands), toning exercises, and cardio to get the blood pumping, muscles building, and calories burning. The last 15 minutes of the class are cool-down moves that focus on toning, balance, and flexibility. Come early for nutrition tips and discussion.
Admission: TNABA members are FREE and non-members are $5
General HEALTH Tips
1 lb = 3,500 calories
Translation: To burn 1 pound per week; you must cut or burn and extra 500 calories per day.
Plan of Action:
- Increase fruits and vegetables; Decrease meat and processed foods.
- Increase physical activity. Try walking a half mile every day until you can walk 2 miles per day. 1 miles typically = 100 calories.
- Instead of catching up with a friend over coffee or dinner, meet them for a walk. It is perfect for chatting. You should stay at a pace that gets you out of breath but you can still carry on a conversation.
- Find yourself sitting at home while you are watching television, listening to music, talking with your family, be creative and do sit-ups, side leans, knee raises, anything to keep moving instead of sitting still.
